Kiss Unwanted Hair Goodbye With Laser Hair Removal

On average, it takes approximately 10-15 minutes to shave your body hair, which means that if you shave daily, you spend around just over 90 hours a year removing body hair. Also, consider that the average cost of a woman’s disposable razor is just over a dollar. Even if you only replace your razor once a week, that’s over $52 a year on razors. Or if you prefer to wax, you can spend around $100 for a full leg wax, which adds up to $1200 a year plus gratuity if you have your legs waxed once a month.

But what if you never had to shave or wax again? What would you do with your extra time and money?

Here at Limitless Med Spa in Spring, Texas, we offer state-of-the-art laser hair removal treatments with the Splendor X laser equipment. If you’re fed up with nicks, painful waxing, and wasting time and money on laser hair removal, talk to our physician, or Licensed LHR Professionals to find out how to kiss your unwanted body hair goodbye.

How does laser hair removal work?

We use the Splendor X laser system, which uses multiple wavelengths of laser energy to penetrate and destroy your hair follicles. The laser targets the melanin or pigment in your hair and converts to heat, which damages your hair follicles and prevents future growth.

Hair grows in cycles, and every follicle isn’t on the same schedule. We need to target your hair follicles during their growth cycles, which means that multiple appointments are necessary to effectively treat all your follicles at the right time. Every patient is different, but most have a series of six treatments spaced four weeks apart for optimal results.

The Spendor X has a square laser delivery head, which allows us to follow a grid pattern on your skin for uniform coverage. This reduces your risk of overlap, missed areas, and overtreatment.

What happens during laser hair removal treatment?

You can have laser hair removal just about anywhere on your body, including your:

  • Legs

  • Bikini area

  • Arms

  • Underarms

  • Back

  • Abdomen

  • Chest

  • Face

You can have multiple body parts treated at the same time. Depending on the area being treated, your appointment could last anywhere from 10-60 minutes.

When you come into the practice, we escort you back to one of our luxurious treatment rooms and you undress enough to allow us access to the part of your body being treated. We mark a grid pattern on your skin which helps us make sure that we cover every inch of your target area.

The Splendor X has a built-in cooling system to keep you comfortable during your treatment and we provide an ice pack to cool and slightly numb your skin before your treatment begins. You can also take a couple of pain-relievers approximately 20 minutes before your appointment.

Then, while you wear protective eyeglasses, we direct the laser over your skin. You might notice a warming sensation and some patients say they feel a series of snaps. Most patients tolerate the treatment well, but if you need a break, just let us know.

After your treatment, you can get right back to your regular activities, although you should avoid strenuous activity that could raise your temperature for at least 24 hours after your laser hair removal appointment.

Top tips for laser hair removal:

Laser hair removal is an excellent investment, but you will have to follow a few instructions to get the most out of your treatments. First, if you’ve been waxing, you need to revert to shaving while you have the treatment. You need to have hair in the follicle for the treatment to work.

Second, stay out of the sun. While the Splendor X is suitable for all skin tones, if you have a tan, even a fake tan, the extra melanin in your skin can interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment and could potentially cause skin discoloration.

And finally, you might need to have an occasional touch-up appointment. Hair growth is linked to your hormones. Changes in your hormone levels due to pregnancy, birth control pills, or other factors can trigger hair growth.

So what are you waiting for? Start the laser hair removal process now and you can complete your initial series of treatments before you know it. Give us a call to book your appointment and discover how laser hair removal can help you say goodbye to unwanted body hair.
